Happy New Year everyone!
I just spent the last 2 days at a campsite in Wainuiomata in Wellington…just chillin with friends and family and listening to some of my favorite bands live…Also doing alot of thinking and planning for LOTUS and myself for 2010.

Ive been working on a text only “logo” for a while…this is what ive come up with.
Im thinking every season or maybe every year will get a new colour way on both a black and white tee.
im all about teal, cyan, orange and what I call monster green atm…
a few new mockups from the last day or two….
ove is a return of an old design/logo…its called the pirate of funk…..the other is a re think of the WB
LOTUS is 10 years old in 2010….we will be working with Empire skate shops to get LOTUS out in Wellington…..Empire will be our first decent retailer, in our home city, in 8 years!

LOTUS Lotus was born in 2000 after my desire to contribute to the world of streetwear could no longer be contained.
Lotus was developed from the ground with only $50 seed money. I sold LOTUS to mates and anyone else who would listen and the profit from each new tee design was put back into making more tees.
Lotus grew well and the first “season” of 5 or 6 tee designs caught the attention of some local stores who stocked our first season and sold out in a few weeks.
Since then LOTUS seasons have included our own denim range as well as some small run CMT items.
Over the years LOTUS has been supported by some great people and some cool shops and over the last few years we have produced very very limited runs of each new design and have never had any problems with demand. We have had several offers from stores both from here in New Zealand and from The USA and Canada but have decided to slow things down a bit and only work with people we really want to work with.
We remember the ‘good old days’ of streetwear and want to try and bring back some of that flavour and excitement.
Our aim is to keep LOTUS exclusive, not to be snobs but to try and re-create that almost brotherhood you used to feel when you knew that you had the only stussy tee in that colour way in your whole town…. you got it and when you saw someone else rocking something fresh you knew they got it as well….and even though Airwalk NTS were as ugly as sin you knew that they ruled for skating and that no wannabe ‘poser’ would get it..
We think humour is vital and many or our designs are over the top or done with tongue firmly in cheek, we are super happy to satirise anything trendy and should never be taken too seriously!
In 2010 lotus is set to do really average sized things!
